My Story

My story is one of transition from finance to purpose, from metrics to meaning. It’s about building bridges across cultures, generations, and systems, and using knowledge, access, and experience to open doors for others. ​For a long time, my world revolved around numbers, managing financial portfolios, markets, performance. I built a successful career in global finance, managing large-scale investments across regions and economies. On paper, it all made sense. Yet, somewhere along the way, I began to notice what the numbers didn’t show: the people left out of the system, the untapped potential, and the quiet cost of exclusion.

Working across both emerging economies and established western systems gave me a front-row seat to how access (or the lack of it) shapes lives. I saw how financial systems could either empower communities or unintentionally widen social gaps.

My education at Oxford and Yale, and my experience as a Yale World Fellow, sharpened my global perspective but it was lived experience that truly shifted my path. Becoming a mother changed the way I understood leadership, resilience, and responsibility. It made equity personal. It made inclusion urgent.

I experienced, firsthand, how easy it is for people especially women, immigrants, and newcomers to shrink themselves, to self-exclude, or to feel they don’t quite belong. That experience became the catalyst for my community work. I began creating and leading programs focused on cultural confidence, integration, and financial literacy first for adults, then for children. I wanted to start early, to give children the tools I wish more of us had growing up: confidence in who they are, comfort with money, and a sense of agency in the world. Teaching financial literacy from the preschool years onward became one of the most meaningful parts of my work.

Another outcome of this transition took shape while living in Canada, a country with open borders and a welcoming, multicultural environment that aligns closely with my equity initiatives. This inspired me to develop a children’s book designed to help young readers build cultural confidence. I am also working on a second book project focused on financial literacy, introducing basic concepts of money in a developmentally appropriate way and helping children develop essential life skills and healthy financial habits that support long-term success.

​Leaving a successful financial career wasn’t a loss; it was a deliberate choice. I transitioned into leadership development and equity-focused work because I believe real growth happens when systems are designed with people at the center. Today, my work focuses on advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion, empowering women and youth, and supporting responsible funding that creates both impact and sustainability.
